Site surveyed and signs go up.
| Here is the site before. It won't look like this for long. You can just see the survey stakes laid out by Towbridge & Hutchinson Engineering. |
| Excavation of the foundation. |
| There was certainly a lot of dirt in the hole that was created by Scott Brown of R&B Excavating and Development Corp. |
After the hole is dug, mats are used to help keep the ground from freezing where the footings will go. |
| |
Recovery from the mud pit caused by the melting snow. |
| The snow slowed things down a bit but it doesn't stop the crew. |
The schedule called for 3.25 people on this day. Pictured (left to right) are Gerry Fricot, Fricot Building and Remodeling, Joe Rezza of Advanced Homes and Scott Brown of R&B Excavating and Development Corp. They are all members and officers of BNHBA. |
| There was a lot of mud in the hole from all the melting snow, so it was pumped out and a layer of stone put down. |
Crawling up from the bottom of the hole... |
| ...to clean up some of the edges around back. |
A lot of insulating tarps are laid out again to keep the ground from freezing. |
| |
The footings are poured!
| The forms have been set and the footings are ready to pour. |
The crew has things under control. Note the fencing that has been installed for added site safety. |
| Thanks to Boro Sand & Stone for providing the foundation materials. |
| |
The modular home pieces are delivered. |
| Here comes the house modules. Thanks to the North Attleboro Knights of Columbus, we have a temporary holding spot less than 100 yards from the site. |
Carefully parking them on the lawn behind the parking lot of the North Attleboro Knights of Columbus hall. |
| Here is a shot of the 4 house modules, still wrapped in their protective plastic from the ride. There is a front and rear section for each of the 2 floors. They will be moved and lifted from the trailers onto the foundation soon. |
Nice color scheme. The front door and flanking double hung windows are shown here. Note the siding, window and door trim and the shutters are pre-installed. The corner trim and remaining siding will be added after the house is joined together. |
| |
The foundation walls are finished. |
| RK Construction is back at work to strip the forms. |
They are removing the forms from the foundation wall. |
| |
The foundation has been waterproofed and backfilled. |
| The sill plates are in place and the foundation has been waterproofed thanks to DA Baker Construction. |
The site has been backfilled. You can see the cellar entrance which will be covered with a bulkhead door. We are just about ready for the house modules to be set. |
| |
Setting the house |
| Album of over 100 pictures! |
| |
Siding and some interior work |
| The house now looks like a house! The siding is finished, and the roof is tight. The front steps have not been installed yet, but soon! The yard is nice and level, but the driveway still must be installed. It will be on the left. |
Here is a view of the kitchen. There is still some plumbing to hook up, and the appliances to go, but the cabinets and the flooring are pre-installed. The finish moldings will be added last. |
| The master bathroom has a double sink vanity and two medicine cabinets with mirrors. |
